Welcome
The Friend Speak English Classes are conversation classes. The classes meet on Sunday each week. This is the 16th year for these classes. Students from many different countries come to learn and practice English conversation. The classes are taught by volunteers from Naperville Church of Christ. The classes are open to everyone whether they are a Christian or not a Christian.
Cost: Free / $15.00
Times:
- New Semester Begins September 8, Ends December 15, 2019
- Sunday Morning 9:00-9:45
- Childcare: Free. Children can join our children’s classes if needed.
About the Classes:
Students will practice reading from the Friends Speak workbook. Then the teacher will practice new words and ask questions to make conversation. Most students come to the classes with some background in reading and writing in English, but need more practice in speaking and listening. These classes focus on speaking, listening and making conversation.
The classes will meet each week and study from the Friends Speak workbook. Classes are usually a small group or one on one.
If you are not able to join the classes, please let your teacher know.
Class Levels
Beginners Class: For those who can read and write in English, but speak little (100 words or less.)
Intermediate Class: For those who have studied some English, but need help to speak and practice conversation.
Advanced Class: For those who want to improve their pronunciation and accent to feel more comfortable conversing at work, school and in the community.
