Join us for a new beginning on Sunday, June 12th!
Letter from the Webb Family:
The Webbs are so excited to know we will soon be with you! By the end of May, our belongings will be packed up and in transit to Naperville. We plan to join you by Sunday, June 5th at the latest. God heard all the prayers about housing, and we found a rental townhouse in Naperville. For all those prayers you said: thank you! Before we actually make it to town, there are still plenty of boxes to pack and miles to drive. Your prayers are still needed. And for those prayers: thank you!
Each of you is also on a journey. Whether it is in your job, your family, or your free time, you are headed somewhere. Where are you going? As a community of believers, you are journeying as well. It could be a specific ministry you lead or are part of, or it might be your participation in Sunday worship or a community group. Whatever it is, you are a community headed somewhere. Where are you going?
In a few days, our paths will converge, and we ask you to envision that time as a starting line. The picture in your mind might be of that spot at the start of a local race. Sports fans might think of a green flag or even a kick-off. The shopper might consider the crowd of people waiting at the door as a salesperson turns the key from inside. No matter what you see in your mind, something good is ready to start! With the apostle Paul, we say: “In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:4-6, NIV)
What can you do while you wait for all of us to move forward together? Pray. Ask God to guide you and your fellow travelers. You need all those around you, and all those around you need you. Invite God to have the lead on our journey. What else can you do? Read. Go to the guidebook called the Bible. In there, you’ll find what you need to make the journey a success. It will tell you why you matter to God, and it will be a reminder of why other people should matter to you. What else can you do? Respond. When you talk to God, or when you read God’s Word, you will be changed. He has a way of letting you know what you need to stop or start, add or subtract, remember or forget. When you know what that is, respond.
Thank you for inviting our family to have a place in your church family. May God use every one of us to let all the communities you are a part of know that our God is alive! We will see you soon!
