- My life is not meant to be unnoticed. Jesus knows me, and he wants others to know him. In Matthew 5:14-16, he compares my life to a lamp. Yesterday, I know I shined bright when I ______________ . One way I want to shine more is by ______________ .
- Light doesn’t come from a lamp when something is covering it – like a bowl. I’ve justified my actions, but I realize what I sometimes say and do covers up what I’m showing or telling about Jesus. I have put a bowl on my light when I ______________ . There is also that time when I didn’t ______________ , and I know I should have.
My words and actions:
There is plenty of darkness in the world around me. I hear it, see it, feel it, and experience it. Jesus’ words show me the way I can also cause it. Before I speak or act, I must consider my light. Am I letting it shine, or am I putting it out? Only one of those enables the world to see the goodness of my Father in heaven.
God, I must ask you to forgive me for creating darkness with my choices. Sometimes, it has been by mistake, but other times were absolutely of my choosing. I want more people around me to know what I know about you! You love so much, you gave so much, and you promise so much! Please help me be a bright reflection of who you are and what you are doing in this world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
