Solomon’s wisdom is given to him by God in 1 Kings 3:5-12. What a gift! Of all that Solomon could have asked for, he asked for a discerning heart. He wanted to be a wise leader. You’ll read his wise words in many books of the Bible. Go ahead and look at some of them.

With each of the Bible passages above, consider these questions:
- What would Solomon’s first readers have understood him saying about wise living in each place you read?
- What principles or actions are being taught that are still true today?
- What are common themes that run through Solomon’s wisdom literature?

To Pray About:
- Using the same passages you’ve read and thought about, pray those words back to God. Turn them into requests for how you want to think, act, and respond to him and others.
