A person’s last words are often notable. They speak to you before leaving the house in the morning or leaving town in the evening. Last words can contain what they consider to be of the utmost importance. In the early chapters of Deuteronomy, Moses recounts Israel’s history with God to this point in their journey. God had been faithful even though Moses and the people had not been.
To Think About:
- Read Deuteronomy 6:5-9. In some of Moses’ last words, he wants those listening to “know.” What does Moses want the people to know? How are they to remember what they are to know?
- What actions can you take to remember God’s commands today?
- Read Matthew 28:18-20. In Jesus’ last words, he wants those listening to “go.” What does Jesus want those who believe in him to do?
- What actions can you take today to ensure that those who don’t know about Jesus can learn about him?
To Live Out:
Know and go. Know what God has said and go tell what he’s done through Jesus!
To Pray About:
- The ability to remember what God has done for you or helped you get through.
- The willingness to talk to someone else about Jesus – someone who doesn’t yet know him like you do.
