Admitting you did or said something wrong is not easy, but it is necessary. In your relationship with God and others, acknowledging what you did is vital to the longevity of those relationships.
Pray
Come before God as you are. It is the only choice you can make because he already sees you as you are – and loves you. Confess why you love God or why you struggle to love him. Tell Jesus what about him amazes you or what it is about him that confuses you. Finally, use words, any honest words, to let heaven know what you are feeling right now.
Read
Read Psalm 32 in your favorite Bible. Reread it in a different translation. (You can also use biblegateway.com to look at this song in different translations.)
Respond
Write or type the names of three people to whom you are related. Now, three co-workers. Last, what are the names of three people at church? Reflect on your interactions with these people. Whether something from days or years ago, is there something you need to confess to them or to God? If so, may your response be confession.
